Joseph
A. Lynott, Sr.
Joseph A. Lynott, Sr., is the founding member of the firm. He is an
alumnus of Villanova University and Georgetown Law School. His areas of
practice include land use and zoning, real property law, contractual
matters and sophisticated transactional matters.
Mr. Lynott has served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Holy Cross
Hospital; Chairman of the Board of Directors of University National Bank;
Chairman of the Washington Regional Board of Equitable Trust Bank;
Treasurer of the Maryland Hospital Association; Director of the Maryland
Hospital Educational Institute; Chair of several advisory committees to
the Mayor and Council of Rockville, Maryland; and Chairman of the
organization and steering committee of Havicon Insurance Company.

A. Lynott, III
Joseph A. Lynott, III, joined the firm in 1981 following a judicial
clerkship with the Honorable John J. Mitchell of the Circuit Court for
Montgomery County. He is admitted to practice in Maryland and the District
of Columbia and his areas of practice include all aspects of real property
law and transactional matters; contract negotiations and disputes; probate
and estate planning matters; commercial litigation; and land use and
zoning matters.
Mr. Lynott is active in several civic and not-for-profit organizations and
numerous state and county bar association committees and sections. He is a
graduate of Villanova University (B.S., Economics) and graduated from the
Columbus School of Law at the Catholic University of America in 1980. Mr.

James
L. Parsons, Jr.
James L. Parsons, Jr., joined the firm as a principal in April of 2004.
Mr. Parsons is an alumnus of the University of Maryland,
College Park, and earned his law degree from Washington University in St.
Louis in 1986. He was admitted to practice law in Maryland in 1986 and in
the District of Columbia in 1999. His practice areas include commercial
and employment litigation, contracts, real estate, zoning, land use,
traffic/DUI, and
personal injury. He also has experience in representing clients in the
sale and purchase of businesses, and in administrative proceedings
including matters before the Maryland Department of Environment,
Montgomery County Board of Appeals, and Montgomery County Board of License
Commissioners (alcoholic beverage licensing). Mr. Parsons has successfully
prosecuted numerous cases against major oil refiners under the Petroleum
Marketing Practices Act, and he has acted as co-counsel to a regional
association of service station dealers. He served as an assistant county
attorney for Montgomery County, Maryland from 1990 – 1998. Mr. Parsons’
